About Me:

Hello, and welcome to my website.  My name is Brent Everitt, and I am a sophomore in the Surveying Engineering program at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.  I grew up in a small town in the Northeastern Lower Michigan called Prescott.  Here I live on a family owned and operated Dairy/Cash Crop Farm.  By growing up on a farm I learned to value and love the outdoors.  Upon my graduation from Whittemore-Prescott Area High School I wanted to pursue a degree in some type of engineering field.  My first choice was mechanical engineering, however, the more I looked into the field I did not know if I would enjoy it for the rest of my life.  I wanted a career in engineering where I could be outside and travel.  After more research in the engineering field I came across the profession of surveying engineering.  Here I would have the chance to work inside or outside, travel, and work with the latest and greatest instruments available.  This was the career I was looking for, so here I am at Ferris studying for that degree.

Objective:

After college, I plan to pursue a career in Land Surveying, Geographic Information Systems and mapping.

Experience:

During the summer of 2006, I worked at Surveying Solutions Inc. (SSI) in Standish, Michigan, as a Surveying Technician.  Here did many different tasks in the office and in the field.  In the field, I worked with levels to set grade on roads, and GPS to stake out many different points.  In the office, I helped to create LCRC’s and portfolios for numerous different jobs.  

                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Education:

In the fall of 2005 I enrolled at Ferris State University.  Here I have been studying for a Bachelor of Science degree, Department of Surveying Engineering , College of Technology, Ferris State University.

Interests:

I am an avid outdoorsman who loves to play sports, go hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, or basically anything outdoors.  One of my favorite interests is Arctic Cat and the snowmobiles they produce. I also enjoy listening to country music and watching movies every now and again.
